Friday 8th May 2020.
Good morning folks- Mrs McGill here which must mean it is a Friday And as if Fridays couldn't get any better it is a bank holiday; which means there is no home learning today.
However, today does mark the 75th anniversary of VE day. Mr Graham has put a link for a special VE day assembly on the home page of the website for you to look at. Also, I have set up an optional VE day activities link on our class page if anyone wanted to have a go at some activities. As always please send in your pictures and I will upload them on the website too. Thank you and enjoy the long weekend!
Thursday 7th May 2020
Good morning everyone, we approaching the end of my part of the week, before I pass over to Mrs McGill tomorrow. Let’s have a look at today’s activities:
Maths
Moving on to addition and subtraction today, they start off simpler, but become more complicated as we move forward

Reading
Working with your child’s favourite book, answer the questions set by the activity sheets

English
When I was planning today’s activities, I knew I needed Maths, Reading, English and Topic. When I wrote that sentence, I used commas in a list, except for the word after and. Today with that seamless introduction, and as part of our SPAG Thursday, we are looking at using commas in a list.
Topic
Our topic this term is the Artist Andy Warhol, today we have a chance to create our own Andy Warhol style masterpiece, either with paints, or if parents would prefer less mess, on the computer
I've chosen this lesson as it relates to our chosen artist, Andy Warhol. However as it has been a long time since any of class Attenborough worked on a computer with me, I'm attaching the previous lessons (about different artists) to the learning as well,
This session will help with creating shapes
This session will help with adding colour to a picture using the fill command.
Do remember that if you would rather create a picture using paints or pencil crayons, that is also fine this is only an alternative for those (like me) who feel they have cleaned up a lot of paint lately.
See you next week!
Wednesday 6th May 2020
Hello everyone, we have reached the middle of the week, hope your all keeping well, now let’s look at our activities
Maths
Today in maths we are looking at related facts- if I know this, then I also know…
For example:
If I know that
3 + 6 = 9
Then I also know that
30 + 60 = 90
300 + 600 = 900

Reading
Today we are looking at expanding our vocabularies with this bumper pack of activities. Work hard and you will have a tremendous amount of new words to use. If only there was a word for that…
Writing
Today I want you to write a review of your favourite fable from the different ones we have looked at this week. Why did you choose this fable? What was it about it that you liked? If you could change anything in the story what would it be and why?
RE
This week we are looking at the parable of the lost sheep, children can either draw a picture or retell the story to an adult.

Then, you can order different inventions by importance using the pyramid, remember, YOU decide which inventions are the most important, what matters is how well you explain your answer.
