Week 5 Monday 4th May - Friday 8th May

LEARNING FROM HOME - MONDAY 4th MAY

Good morning Rufford. I hope you all had a fab weekend.

Today's tasks ...

Task 1 - We did A LOT of writing last week so this week we are going to concentrate on reading and spag (remind your parents that this means spelling, punctuation and grammar). Each day, apart from Friday – as it’s a Bank Holiday- you will be given three tasks. The first one is a reading task, the second is a spelling task and the third is a grammar task. I don’t expect you to do them all every day. You can pick and choose.

Play ‘Crunch Time’ on Ed City. It is in the Reading Games folder.

Play ‘Perfect Prefixes Part 1’ on Ed City. It is in the Spelling Games folder.

Complete the ‘Identifying Nouns’ session on BBC Bitesize. I would just watch the videos and complete the online activities. You don’t need to do the Twinkl activities as we are only recapping, not learning something new.

Task 2 - I have had some mixed feedback on the maths videos. Some of you love them. Some of you aren’t so keen. So this week, you have a choice. You can either continue with the videos http://www.iseemaths.com/lessons34/ or you can go to Ed City and play the games I have put in the Maths Games folder. If you are choosing to go on Ed City, then you should be having a go at 3 different games each day. Some are easier than others. You can play the games even if you complete a video, if you want to.

Task 3 – Last Friday was National Space Day so this task should have been set for then. But I missed it so we’re doing it today instead J I would like you to create a piece of space themed art. It could be a 3D model of a rocket, a chalk picture of the solar system, a moon made out of cheese (ok, maybe not that one – but you get the idea). If you want an extra challenge, see if you can find out the order of the planets from the sun and learn them.

Optional Task -

LEARNING FROM HOME - TUESDAY 5th MAY

Hi Class Rufford. Well done to this week's Rockstars leaders: Archie M, Jacob and Abbie. Great job guys.

I hope you are liking the variety of tasks this week. You have some choices again today. Also, have you checked out the Staying Active section of our webpage? I have been adding different things for you to try in there.

Today's tasks are :

Task 1 - Play ‘Infer A Penny’ on Ed City. It is in the Reading Games folder.

Play ‘Suffix Up Look Sharp’ on Ed City. It is in the Spelling Games folder.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zhp3bdm

Task 2 – As I told you yesterday, you can either continue with the videos http://www.iseemaths.com/lessons34/ or you can go to Ed City and play the games I have put in the Maths Games folder. If you are choosing to go on Ed City, then you should be having a go at 3 different games each day. Some are easier than others. You can play the games even if you complete a video or you can switch and change between the videos and the games throughout the week.

Task 3 - I though you might have some fun with this music lesson on Beat Boxing today. Enjoy J

Optional Task

Have a great Bank Holiday tomorrow.

Happy VE Anniversary Day!

As today is a bank holiday, there is no set learning.

However, if you would like to do something linked to this very special day, there are some VE Day activities below. You can pick and choose what you would like to complete but most importantly today is about remembering the brave men, women and children from 75 years ago.

Have a lovely weekend with your families. Stay safe and we'll catch up again next week.
