Duncan Oakley
Appointed as the new governor in 2022 alongside new headteacher Mrs Gabb it is my privilege to help steer a post-pandemic All Hallows back to its former "outstanding" position.
Having studied design and illustration at college I am a self-published children's author but have mostly been on the road for 23 years as a musical comedian and songwriter.
Since 2017 we, as a family, have settled here in Gedling and for the first time feel part of an honest and down-to-earth community, for which I am grateful and want to offer something in return.
The role of governor and its environment are both very new to me but hopefully I can add a fresh perspective and bring to the table a logical brain that enjoys problem solving and a strong sense of what is right and fair.
Also assuming the role of link governor for art and music, I feel lucky to be so involved in my children's education and that of all the other wonderous young minds from our lovely village.
