OUR ASSEMBLY ASSESSORS

Our assembly assessors for this year are Sally Bennington, Mia Bradley-Sissons, Lena Taylor, and Emily Shaw. They have an important job in our school supporting our acts of worship. They will be handing out stickers in our hymn practices. Don't forget to tell them if you would like a particular song or Bible story. They are in charge of the prayer board. They will also be leading some of our acts of worship. Our chair of governors has challenged them to do an assembly on the meaning of names in different religions. This should be ready soon after February half term.

PRAYER BOARDS AND STATIONS

Don't forget to put your prayer into the box in the foyer ready for our Monday act of worship. You can also use our prayer station in the library area. This term we have a marble run,  so put in a marble and as it cascades down think and pray quietly.

During the Autumn term 2016 our children have been writing their own prayers about the world. Here are a few examples. You might want to use these as a prayer for the day.

Emily's prayer

Thank you for the lovely insects and bugs in the world. But please can you stop people from squashing them. Amen.

Emma's prayer

This is a prayer to someone who knows how to help and I am talking to you. All I need to say is thank you for friends and family. They give us love and that is like God giving us love. But what I am aiming at is anti-bullying, and all I want is for people to be friends. Thanks for listening and please think about what I have said. Amen.

Gabriel's prayer

Dear God. Thank you for the many different and wonderful foods, fruits, vegetables and drinks that you have provided for us. Please may you help unfortunate people who don't have a lot of food, become as healthy, well fed and fortunate as the fortunate people. Amen.

Madi's prayer

Thank you for the clean water for drinking and other ways we use water. Can you support the charities that help countries to give clean water. If you support them you save a lot lives. Amen

Phoebe's poem

Dear God. Please help children in Africa to get an education. Thank you for the education I have but we must remember the children who do not have that opportunity. Amen.

OUR SCHOOL PRAYER

Give me the strength to be kind,

And to respect everyone and everything.

Remind me always to use my manners,

And give me the courage to make the right choices.

Bless our whole school family,

And our wider family across the world.

Thank you for being with us,

And helping us in all that we do.

Amen.
