Attendance

Attendance at All Hallows C of E Primary School

At All Hallows, we are proud of the strong attendance at our school and the positive habits our children develop. Coming to school every day and arriving on time helps children feel settled, confident, and ready to learn, as well as building friendships and a sense of belonging within our caring school community.

Punctuality

A calm and positive start to the day is very important for children.

  • School gates open at 8:40am
  • Classroom doors open at 8:40am and remain open until 8:50am
  • The school day begins at 8:45am

Children who arrive between 8:40am and 8:50am will be marked present.

If your child arrives after 8:50am, they should enter via the school office, where they will be signed in and supported to class.

  • The register is taken at 9:00am
  • Children arriving between 8:50am and 9:15am will receive a late mark (L)
  • Registers close at 9:15am, after which arrival is recorded as an unauthorised absence.

We really value punctuality, as even small amounts of lost learning time can add up.

Reporting Absence

If your child is unable to attend school, please let us know on the first day of absence by 8:50am by:

  • Telephoning the school office
  • Sending a message via your usual communication platform

When your child returns, please share the reason for their absence so we can update our records.

We understand that children may be unwell from time to time, and we appreciate your support in keeping us informed.

Requests for Leave in Term Time

We encourage families to plan holidays outside of school term time wherever possible, so children do not miss valuable learning experiences.

Government guidance is clear that leave during term time should only be granted in exceptional circumstances. All requests should be made in advance to the Headteacher in advance and will be carefully considered on an individual basis.

Working Together

At All Hallows, we know that good attendance is built through strong partnerships between school and home. We are very grateful for the support of our families in maintaining our high attendance levels.

Regular attendance helps children to:

  • Feel confident and settled
  • Build strong friendships
  • Make the best possible progress in their learning

If you ever have concerns about your child’s attendance or need support, please contact the school office. We are always here to help.
