Today we are continuing our mathematics with adding of equal groups.

Having spent all week learning the story of the Gruffalo, today we will be writing out the story in our own words.  One thing I notice about the story is it doesn’t have many adjectives in it, can you rewrite it with more description?

Today heralds the start of our new science topic, Living things and their habitats, in this first lesson we are looking at how classify something as living.

Have a great weekend, if you need anything, please don’t hesitate to email me.

Hello everyone,  it’s our second day of home learning, I hope everyone is settling in to the new routine.

Having worked to recognise equal groups yesterday today we are moving on to making our own

In English we are continuing to learn the story of the Gruffalo, in class we will be using actions to help us to learn the text, this can be a very effective way of aiding recall.  If you do any actions at home then please send in any pictures or videos we can share with the rest of the class.

We are doing our RE session today this week instead of our usual Wednesday – apologies for this but we’ll get there in the end and this marks our first session learning about Judaism.

Wednesday 6th January 2021

This half term we are looking at multiplication and division, starting off with  recognising equal groups.  Please follow the link for the video covering this session, the
PowerPoint and the worksheet are available to download at the bottom of the page.

We are learning about stories with repeating language, focussing on an old favourite in Year 2 – the Gruffalo.  Earlier this week we were learning the first half of the story by heart using actions – there is a PowerPoint of this at the bottom of the page.  Todays task is to check our memory of the text, sheet 1 has the first part of the sentences for a section of the story for children to complete, the second sheet has pictures from the story for children to write out sentences.

I think it’s fair to say the 2020 was nobody’s favourite year, but it was still a year of achievements, personally I learned how to upload and edit work on the website!  This activity serves as a reflection of what we did achieve last year, and what we hope for the next one.
